Sovelia Inventor 2024 release news

We are happy to announce the Sovelia Inventor 2024 release is now available. This ensures your Sovelia Inventor compatibility with the latest Autodesk Inventor making some of the tasks in your design work easier with extensive selection of productivity tools and automated workflows. 

Check in / Check out from property editor

Check in and out from vault files are available from the property editor when logged into Vault.

Set Properties from drawing

Open a drawing and run the property editor to set or edit properties

TIP: Ctrl select will select multiple components

1. Select Part priority

Make independent

Replaces a selected component with a renamed copy

From 2024 it’s possible to add drawing to the copy

1. Start From ribbon menu

If there are more than one equal instance of a component and one of them should be different this command is useful. It can also be used if all occurrences in the active assembly should change. Make Independent makes a copy of the selected component and replaces the original instance with the copy.

Sovelia Components Drawing

Add a drawing to Sovelia Components if configured.

• Check for create drawing and get the drawing included with the model. Configure to use your own templates and save a lot of time working.
  
  
• By selecting the check box a drawing will also be created.

• The drawing can be set up to use suit your templates

Flat pattern export

Sovelia Inventor can pick all sheet metal parts from an assembly and create flat pattern files for export. The formats are: dxf, dwg or sat. For dwg and dxf we also write information into the file.

Start From the ribbon menu, Sovelia tab with an assembly open

This will collect all sheet metal plates  and export them.

Functionality when starting the Flat Pattern Export

1. Select Filetype

2. Then select the dxf or dwg ini file you want to use, or use the default that comes with Sovelia Inventor.

3. The Export location can be selected from the menu

• Original folder places the files in the same folder where the sheet metal part is
• Export Folder is a pre-defined folder where we also have the option to keep the relative folder paths

• Export Folder with Type subfolder export to a subfolder with the type of the exported  file as foldername

4. If there are sheet metal files with no flat pattern as flat pattern will be created during export if this box is checked.
5. The dxf layer where the text will be written inside the dxf/dwg file
   
   
6. Placement of the text

7. OK will do the export

• Only files edited from last export will be created
• The result file can have text in the file fir dxf and dwg formats
